Mesjid (mosque)

In my life at Lipat Kajang, I have come across three mesjid (at various phases of the kampong history) which had been used as the common prayer house for the folks of Lipat Kajang.
One was a wooden mesjid built off the ground like a Malay house. It was demolished (I suppose) when they built the newer mesjid. It was somewhere where 'rumah Mat Darat' (late) stands (is the empty house still there?).
They built the other (newer) mesjid, now almost just a skeleton, being used as a storage for the existing mesjid odds and ends.
And lastly they built the present mesjid after they abandoned the older (newer) mesjid.

Years ago and before that they must have other mesjid buildings that they used and that we do not know about, too far (?) back in Lipat Kajang history.

Lipat Kajang people (or decendents) are encouraged to participate& contribute (Orang Lipat Kajang, atau keturunan, di jemput memberi sumbangan idea)

  2. i don't know much about the mosques in LKP,
but i have heard some of us who enjoy relatively luxurious life have made substantial monetary contribution to the mosque fund

i know that the village mosque will only be filled up (to the brim maybe) only in Fridays, why must it be on Fridays only?
what about for the daily 5 times a day prayers, nobody go to the mosque to perform collectively to get more pahala?
do we hear the azan from the mosque at the beginning of every daily prayers, subuh, zuhur, 'asar, maghrib and isyak? i don't know becos i've not been there for a long time, but i hope there is...and i congratulate the mosque c'ttee for that
if we hear the azan 5 times a day from the village mosque loud and clear thru the PA system, then we can conclude that the village is lively, is alive and not "dead" very quiet in solitude, as if not populated
then there are the surau's - are they being utilised? i know there is one surau in lanjut near the school...hardly used
it sits on a plot wakaf(ed)by PakNgah Malek, its so centralised, why not utilised?
there is also a surau in Tanah Modan?
is there any other surau, maybe across the river...i don't know

  3. and i have heard not long time ago "the power that be" did not allow children to use the mosque (the new mosque) for "belajar mengaji Quran" class simply because he did not want the kids to walk into the mosque with thick mud (lumpur) on their feet???
if this was true, indeed it is a ridiculous argument....what is the mosque for then???
don't the kids wash their feet clean of even the smallest dirt before they enter the mosque, i was totally appalled and disgusted when i heard that, true or not i'm not sure up to now, but then
kalau tak ada angin tak kan pokok bergoyang
and the narrator was a simple minded honest straight forward old lady who is no more with us now

  7. all this shirking of responsibilities / mengabaikan tugas (by/oleh imam and muazin)= tak amanah, dapat duit tapi tak buat kerja, jadi duit elaun tu halal ke?

i don't know maybe they have actually programmed and organised all these, well and good, again if nothing has been done about it, it's really a very sad story for this kampong

the idea is not to point finger at anyone, who is wrong who is right...no
we are not here to criticise, trying to enervate anyone off his/her "heavenly" appointment(s)

the objective is to highlight the areas where improvements can be made in order to fully utilise the mosque, mengimarahkan masjid

if we have been entrusted to do something, be it as a mosque official or a JKKK member or a Tok Empat or whatever, we have to duly perform and respect the trust in us and not to lose foresight and become arrogant simply becos we think that we are in control (but in fact we are not) over everyone else in our own society which we are supposed to take care of , especially in the performance of religious obligations including the teaching of the Quran for our children, in the mosque : where else is more suitable?

  8. pick up my posting on Ustaz Fadzil. listen to what he says about no 'amanah'. the bilal and the imam should listen to that. when one is paid for ones job, people places trust in you. if you cannot accept that trust then you resign and give that job to someone else, the job is not you right.
ok the mesjid is too far from everyone, then get the 'power that be' to build a new mesjid where there are people. say near tyhe Sekolah Kebangsaan Lipat Kajang, there is a vacant land there (where my father's house used to stand) behind the penghulu's house. Afriad of flood? built it off the ground like the mesjid at Kuala Krau. and the penghulu's house is not occupied because the penghulu has his own house somewhere else, let the imam occupy that house, why not?
when one is not emotionally involved, and one does not think of any worldly gain from 'free allowances' one can easily think out of the box.

  9. your suggestion has a lot of validity sensibility and qualifications, my full backing

the existing mosque is not centrally located, and it has stood there long enough and delapidated enough to be replaced with a new mosque, after all how much will a mosque slightly bigger than that one cost, but has anyone ever had that vision in his mind, i mean VISION towards improvements and progress, and pursue to reallize it, for the ummah, but then again "personal greed" somehow blurs everything else, what more if it does not render any personal gain, never think about the roles and responsibilities as "hamba" dan juga "khalifah" Allah di atas muka bumi ini......mindset?

  10. about the shifting of the mesjid, i wonder what the people of Lipat Kajang think. negative as always? or positive about it? if positive what is their next action? how do we help? where do we come in?

  11. the idea to shift the location of the kampong mosque has got to first be delicately and convincingly mooted to all the kampong folks, supported by concrete arguments
see if anyone can argue against the proposal...
negative reactions need to carefully examined and resolved based on consensus (democracy?)

  12. i just mooted the idea of moving the mesjid because observably its not being operated as a mesjid properly now. a mesjid must have people praying in them, not just on fridays, it must be at every 'waktu'. today its not like that. why? too few people around? or no one azan at the 'waktu'. in any case, if there are people and if azan is sounded, there is a high possibility that there is solat at every 'waktu'. and if the mesjid is used for activities like teaching the koraan, there will be more people, and children can solat at every 'waktu'. and if the mesjid is near the school, children can solat at zohor and asar, the children can even azan at zohor and asar. and the if the imam were to live in the empty peghulu's house, its better still he can be near his mesjid all the time, and he will not be paid "blind" allowances.

  13. Not a religious person myself, however if we are talking about religion here, we have to do something about it.

Moving it to another place is good and agree to it.

There must be activities (religious mind you and nothing else), like what we heard before as of menggaji pondok organise by the Tok Yang Haji Ahmad.

The menggaji session is good but must be implemented properly.

Kalau sampai boleh sampai hafazan and taranum that will be better. Uztaz atau Imam pun kena better le....Kena belajau lagi le.....

I know for a fact that quite sometime back that there are classes organise by Uztaz Kamaruddin(dah arwah)from NS.

Sanggup datang untuk mengajar...highly committed and a sanad nabi.

The move if it is going to improve the situation then i am all for it.

From tanjung sungai can hear azan from kelibut seberang......sedih tak sedih nya. Begitu le jika duniawi melebihi ukhrawi.

    Subhanallah.

  14. i have not mentioned about the j/kuasa mesjid. i wonder what they think?
but the important thing is, the j/kuasa mesjid must treat the mesjid like a mesjid ........ have the muazin azan 5 times a day, whether anyone come or not is not the question.

and the mengaji, i presume j/kuasa mesjid must have thought about it. and to get the yonng ones to mengaji, the j/kuasa mesjid might have also consulted the PIBG at sekolah lipat kajang. i wonder what had been going on between j/kuasa mesjid and the PIBG on the mengaji issue.
