In Malaysia today, there are two places called 'Lipat Kajang'. One is in Selangor State, in Kelang District(?). (And is there a Bukit Lipat Kajang in Johore? It seems that there is one but I am not familiar with that place). And of course here we are talking about 'Lipat Kajang' in Pahang State in Temerloh District.
How did Lipat Kajang (in Temerloh, Pahang) got its name? I do not know, I have heard some stories but the stories are very unclear. "Lipat" means fold (or bend in some other Malay dilect) and "Kajang" in the kampong concerned means "a bent over roofing material made by stitching together a sort of mengkuang (of a certain species) leaves". How Lipat came together with Kajang, I have NO idea.
Lipat Kajang people (or decendents) are encouraged to participate& contribute (Orang Lipat Kajang, atau keturunan, di jemput memberi sumbangan idea)
